you guys, I suck!

Posted By: Leah
I am officially the worst blogger ever. I check my blog feed all the time but I am SO swamped at work (and don't have a pc at home right now) that I can't squeeze in even 10 min to blog. I know, sad excuse, right?

So I don't know about the weather where you are, but here it is rainy and crappy. It just makes you want to sleep and eat bad things. I can't wait to see the sun, it's been weeks!

Ok, tiny break over, time to work work work some more. Hopefully things will slow down in October. And hopefully I won't lose any more followers (I know I shouldn't take it seriously, but I do!)

Days 25-26-27 / & Cookout yum!

Posted By: Leah
My posts must be bumming people out because I keep on losing followers! I mean fine by me, I un-follow people all the time if they never update their blog, or are too dull or if they are blocked by my firewall at work, etc. So I'll just take it as nothing personal and I probably don't even know these people anyway. So there!

Hahah

Day 25 → The reason you believe you’re still alive today.
Dang, way to start out with a deep one. I guess I'm lucky? I think anyone can die driving to work, drowning, burning up in a fire, choking on a cracker... there are like a zillion reasons for people NOT to be here. I always liked that saying "'God put me on this earth to accomplish a certain number of things. Right now, I am so far behind, I think I will never die." I totally think this is true. Like life is just a whole bunch of lessons, right? and these lessons keep repeating themselves until you get it right. Well when you have everything you are here to do done, then you die.

Day 26 → Have you ever thought about giving up on life? If so, when and why?
Uh no dude (what is this, downer day of questions?). I mean everyone has wanted to give up but only for like a second. Then after you have your pitty party and realize somebody, somewhere out there has your back/supports you then you can put on your big girl britches and keep going. And if you don't... well it was meant to be. When one door closes, another one opens... something like that!

Day 27 → What’s the best thing going for you right now?
Gav, hi? kinda obvious lol! Haha other than him... I'm excited for our future, lots of fun trips, fun things like that.

Cookout (aka it's just like as if you have 'cooked outside')
Oooh you know what I want? I've wanted this all weekend, but it was raining yesterday so I didn't go. I just may have to go on my way home today... if you want something for more than 48 hours you should get to have it, right? hahhah! Ok so what I really want is Cookout. Specifically a cookout milkshake. What? you don't have a cookout in your city? How is that possible? it's like the best fast food place ever. They have the best milkshakes and they make their burgets/sandwiches with this 'cheddar style' option. o.m.g. this melted cheese sauce, grilled onion goodness!
I didn't watermark this pic, but I took it a while back on a cookout run w/ gav. I don't think I even got him anything hahah. So don't take this un-edited cookout picture you google image thieves.

Check this one out... artistic! Cookout is wayyy more fun at night.

Oh, I remember this day (is it wrong I have a 'cookout' photo file on my computer? I promise I was going to edit them into something cool sometime! lol) yeah... this was when I had cookout 2x in one day! I think that's why I have so many cups on my table. Ok I get it, this looks like hording and an over-eating issue hahah. No, really we went once after the Lazy 5 (dang, I have to edit and post those pics soon!) and then Gav & I went again that night because we had only gotten milkshakes before and this time I wanted dinner from there. Yeah, not making this story healthier or better! oh! but gav got the most delicious milkshake I never would have thought of getting... pineapple! it was sorta like a pina colada, but w/ out coconut. it was very tropical!

Do you have Cheerwine where you live? it's like a cherry-cola sorta soda. soo good!
(well it WAS good before I drank it all). And I love that kind of extra crunchy ice!

This is the back of the fries bag (yes, we are in the bible belt). I don't know Psalm 19:14, so I looked it up on my phone and it said:
"May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight"

I translate that to be "Cookout is delicious, you should eat it all the time. Well not too much or you will weigh a zillion pounds. But you should eat it sometimes because it makes you happy. I mean not fat and happy. Well maybe, but this is delicious, better than 99.99% of the chain places."

Gotta catch up! Days 16 - 24...

Posted By: Leah
Day 16 → Someone or something you definitely could live without.
I got rid of my digital cable/dvr/hd box (and save like $75 a month now, who knew!?) So far it's rough because I miss all these good new shows. But oh well, I guess I don't know what I'm missing. I'll catch them sometime!

Day 17 → A book you’ve read that changed your views on something.
The Kind Diet - Alicial Silverstone. I gave up meat/dairy and did the vegan thing for a good 4 mos this year. I'm sorta back on dairy... but it did change my outlook big time. I don't even like meat, and I seriously didn't know that if I didn't eat it I would be okay. But it's true!

Day 18 → Your views on gay marriage.
I think that if you want to be with someone forever you don't need a piece of paper stating that. I know there are benefits, tax breaks, etc. and I wish that was an option for everyone. But I think that a commitment ceremony is a commitment and it's okay if you don't have a piece of paper making it 'legal.'

Day 19 → What do you think of religion? Or what do you think of politics?
I think religion is good for a lot of people. But I don't think less of someone if they aren't religious. I think if someone is not spiritual and doesn't believe in a 'higher power' maybe they haven't been aware of its presance. I think politics are interesting but also can be lame.

Day 20 → Your views on drugs and alcohol.
I think drugs and alcohol can get people with addictive personalities into trouble, but so can overeating food, smoking or other 'legal' things.

Day 21 → (scenario) Your best friend is in a car accident and you two got into a fight an hour before. What do you do? Well if they were my best friend, they would be my best friend no matter what, fight or no fight so I'd want to be there for them anyway I could be.

Day 22 → Something you wish you hadn’t done in your life.
Um... I probably have eaten a lot of junk food and crap that wasn't good for me. But as real stuff goes, I have no regrets. Everything happens for a reason.

Day 23 → Something you wish you had done in your life.
Eaten healthier. Hahah. Ok see how boring this is? I wish I had gotten some kind of medical degree so I would be rich and help people. But mostly be rich.

Day 24 → Make a playlist to someone, and explain why you chose all the songs. (Just post the titles and artists and letter) My sister's going to be in Sweden this weekend so I'll make one for her (she's in Denmark currently so it's not as long a trip to Sweden as it sounds).

Song - Artist | Reason
Sister - Nixons | Do you remember this song? it's from the 90's the lyrics are like "sister i see you, dancing on the stage of memories." she used to dance. it's a good song. it has 'sister' in it. good enough.
She's got the Look - Roxette | "What in the world can make a brown-eyed girl (me) turn blue (sarah) ... And she goes na-na-na-na-na"
Kiss Kiss - Stella Soleil | Hahah so we loved this song! We went to Paris for our cousin's wedding and we hoped this french club would play it... and they did! So on the dance floor we did that french people kissing both cheeks thing in a dance routine. ok... had to be there.
Steal my Sunshine - Len | hahah we used to listen to this and maybe act this out?
New Age Girl - Deadeye D*ck | I taught sarah the incorrect lyrics. How could I have my little sister going around singing "she don't eat meat, but she sure likes to b*one." Not good. So I changed it to "..likes to talk on the telephone."
Wherever - Shakira | Same deal as the Kiss Kiss song. We used to love it!
(Insert entire Selena soundtrack) - Sarah was obsessed with soundtracks at a young age. We were some of J. Lo's first fans (after in Living Color days)

Ok that'e enough for now. I am supposed to write a letter, but uh... it's more like songs we used to jam out to!

Just kidding!

Posted By: Leah
So remember earlier in the week I said my blog was going private? I really thought it would still show up in everyone's blogger feed after they signed in as an 'approved follower.' Well thanks to Vanessa, I did a little test and it's real! private blogs really don't show up on blogger feeds. So I know you all have my blog bookmarked as your home page (hahah) but in the event you don't I am sure no one will read it ever. Not that I blog for anyone but myself, but I do enjoy everyone's fun comments!

so... yeah...

Just kidding on the going private thing! My sister's positive I have stalkers out there who know my every move via FourSquare. So if you are a stalker reading this... I never carry cash, my credit card is pretty much maxed out, I know rape agression defense, and Gav can yell very loud. So don't mess with us. Hell has no fury.... creepers!!!!!!!!!!

PS (I have worn out everyone I know talking about this, so I might as well mention it here too) do you have a Charming Charlie near you? that store is AMAZING and fabuLESS. Reminds me so much of white house|black market, but with clothes/accessories (boutiqueie stuff) in every color in their own section and the prices... so great!

PPS so i was thinking... I know this is weird and random but I want an anchor tattoo.
I know you are thinking of like navy dudes but I am still obsessed with the nautical thing and idk. I like it!I just don't know where I'd get it.

I won!

Posted By: Leah
Yay I won! woo hoo!!! Have no clue what's going on? Click my earlier post here. Check out the awesome picture our United Way office rep. sent out to the staff. I look pretty awesome!
And yes, I gave a mug from my basket 'o starbucks prizes/gifts/giftcards to the person who I 'borrowed forever' the change off his desk. I think thats what put me over the edge to win! I mean I'm not the real winner... United Way is! Ok... I am the winner too!

I didn't get dressed in the dark

Posted By: Leah
Haha ok no, I really didn't get dressed in the dark... today at work we had a United Way fundraiser! The theme was ugly hats and ties. We all had to go around the office soliciting votes. One vote is $1 (which will be given to the United Way). The winner gets a Starbucks Gift Basket and $25 gift card.
Hello pumpkin spice latte!

Courtney (my cubee, you know her by now!) has an Ugly Christmas Sweater collection (amazing for parties, it's real!) and happened to have these gems we were wearing in her trunk. The rest of our hats/ties are random items from our cube-area! Scary, but true.
Me and Courtney
So foxy!
Oh! and the deal with my coins was I saw them on someone's desk and asked if I could have them, he said yes, and there you go!

This is the rest of the crew in our office who took part hahah
this pic is so classic!
I never really knew the deal with the United Way until last year. I'm sure all UW chapters are different and all organizations handle their funds collected for the UW diffetently, but here's what I learned last year (this is the 1st job I've had where they really get into the fundraising, have speakers come in, etc).

There are (not sure of the exact #) something like 50 local charities/non-profits where the money from United Way goes when it's collected. When you donate you can designate which of these get which percent of your donation. There is quite a variety of organizations and at least one that you want to support. The ones I chose were Hospice, the Women's Resource Center and Triad health Project.

Does where you work have United Way fundraisers? Do you get to choose where your donation is sent?

Several of my blog friends have done this recently and it's such a good idea. Especially because I do have pictures of Gav. If you don't get an invite from me by the end of the week (I'll have my blog go private then) let me know! for real!!! I am not trying to be snobby or leave anyone out. I am just following suit of the smart blog friends I know! If you don't have my e-mail address to get in touch with me, click here.

Days 13-14-15

Posted By: Leah
Next 3 days, dang this month is 1/2 over...

Day 13 → A band or artist that has gotten you through some tough ass days. (write a letter.)
Uh... not sure about the letter part but I'll go for it:

Dear Blink182,
I am not sure if you are still together as a band or not because I know Tom and Travis have done their own projects. Sorry about Travis's airplane crash. And also sorry about DJ AM. What ever happened to Mark Hoppus? He was my favorite. Anyway, my favorite cd of yours is The Mark Tom and Travis Show (The Enema Strikes Back). I like it because it's a live recording from one of your concerts. You play old stuff and newer stuff (that was when 'All the Small things' and 'What's my age again' were super popular). I think your interaction with the audience is really funny in a junior-high immature way. I lost that cd in some box or something for years, but when I found it, it brings me back to fun times at college. I have it in my car right now, actually. It has 49 tracks on the cd, which is great for long trips. Do you all still live in San Diego? Not that I have ever been there or have plans on going there, but when I hear San Diego I think of you all... and Kendra from The Girls Next Door... well she has her own show Kendra now. I'm sure you all have wives who watch it on E! which is the best channel. Ok well that's it. Peace out. PS I'm really lucky and win stuff off of the radio all the time. I won tickets to your concert and No Doubt was opening for you. Well I didn't have anyone to go with, so I sold the tickets on ebay and made like $40. Thanks for that. I'm sure I needed the cash.

Day 14 → A hero that has let you down. (letter)

Dear Darius Rudker (aka Hootie, as in Hootie and the Blow Fish),
I won't go into specific details, but 'Hold my Hand' USED to be my favorite song in like the 9th grade. Then one day I saw your video on MTV. And I was let down. Nothing personal, just you and the band members didn't look how I thought. I promise it's not in a racist way! Just... you can ask my mom. I was very let down. I had these visions of how your group looked and you ALL (not just you) looked NOTHING like I expected. I'm sorry I am so superficial and juegemental (or I was in the 9th grade). But you really did let me down in that way. I will never forget this. PS - when I was looking at colleges I strongly considered USC (South Carolina, Not So Cal) and thought it was funny that in the brochures there were always people in those Hootie & The Blowfish Hats. Hi? Everyone knows you all went there. Kinda like Ben Folds 5 and UNC Chapel Hill. Or maybe only if you live in NC/SC. Well I thought it was interesting marketing anyway. Ok well good luck with your country music carier. My friend at Courtney has your album. It's okay if you like country music. I don't really like it. Sorry about that too.

Day 15 → Something or someone you couldn’t live without, because you’ve tried living without it.
Not sure I have to write a letter but that seems to be the theme for these days

Dear Internet on my Phone,
I got my first smart phone 2 1/2 yrs ago. A Palm Centro from Sprint. It was a great little pink phone. No problems or issues. One day I wanted to save like $50 a month and thought it would be a good idea to cut the data plan off, that means no photo sharing and of course, no internet. Even though I am the worst at keeping in touch with people, I love to be up in everyone's business (silently/vicariously) so I didn't realize I FB stalk all day long w/out even knowing it. Well I cut it back on 1 day after I cut it off. I only saved like $1, but now I know it's totally worth it to have the internet on my phone. In the words of Jake Gyllenhaal  (ok I know it was just his character but I forgot his name) "I wish I knew how to quit you" (RIP Heath Ledger).  I really HAVE to have internet on my phone. What if someone sends me an e-mail? how will I know!?

Awww! and Giveaway Reminder!

Posted By: Leah
You all know how I lead/have led the Biggest Loser contest in my office, which is part of a large organization where hundreds of people taking part. I talked about this a lot earlier in the year. Anyway, we are on round 3 of the competiton for the year (3 mos each) and every time there are winners w/ in our office. I always do well, but have been 3rd place every time. I mean don't get me wrong, i'm super happy and proud and excited for the winners, but just as the person leading I feel like I work so hard and am so close to getting some kind of recognition but am always one off (we only award the 1st and 2nd places). So this round I have been at programs during our meeting time. They decided to do an online survey for our team about what the winner should do with the money. I didn't know about it until i received the e-mail. So I was in Survey Monkey and checked out the results so far (ok yes I'm nosey!):
I was just so touched! not only that they would consider giving me compensation for the work I've done, but the fact that every person voted for it. Totally made my day :)

PS have you entered the awesome, amazing wine charm set giveaway yet??? You only have until this Friday so enter asap!

Days 10-11-12

Posted By: Leah
And... I am back with my next 3 days on the 30-Day Challenge:

.
Day 10 → Someone you need to let go, or wish you didn’t know.

I know the point of this is for you to learn more dirt about me and I promise I'm not trying to flip this to be positive all the time. it's just hard for me not to change a situation to the positive. I can honestly say that every single person I've ever known has taught me something. And I wouldn't be who I am/where I am today.. bla bla bla... you get the point. We established back on Day 9 that I am the worst at keeping in touch with people, so pretty much everybody is 'let go.' I have too much self-respect for hanging out with people I shouldn't.

Day 11 → Something people seem to compliment you the most on.
Ummm.... let me think... sometimes I get compliments on my shoes because I wear a lot of super cute, colorful flats with crazy patterns, plaids, butterflies, sparkle, etc. Sometimes I get compliments on my hair (even though it's a hot mess) but it's when I wear my ShopLeah stuff I made or sometimes (get ready to laugh)  I rock the bumpit or spin-pin and it looks decent. Today I have in spin-pin, and bumpit and a headband. No it's not Jersey Shores here, it's that I took my shower last night then felt really tired/sick so I didn't want to blow dry and went straight to bed. My hair looked A HOT MESSS this morning so I held it back in any possible way. And I've gotten compliments on it. hahah!

Day 12 → Something you never get compliments on.
Nobody is ever "oh you're so pretty " or "cute" or "hot" or whatever. So I assume I'm not, which is fine with me. No creepy dudes approach me and I'm not worried I have stalkers and stuff the hot girls have to worry about. Well I take it back. Gav always says "Pretty Mommy" to me. He knows how to structure a full sentence, but sometimes we'll be in the car on the way to daycare and he'll just say "Pretty mommy!" so I'm not sure if it's something they have been working on at school (he has crazy-good manners, like he will ask "If it's okay with you, may I have a cup of juice" or whatever.)

Days 7-8-9

Posted By: Leah
So I found out who to credit for the 30 day challenge!
Prenda Le Stelle! But really, I want to credit Vanessa with The life of NesJas for giving me the idea!

Day 07 → Someone who has made your life worth living for.
Gav, hi? He's the greatest ever! example: So this past weekend (Labor Day) I was super excited by the FlyLady to declutter. So I got Gav's overflowing toy box and somehow pushed/dragged it into the livingroom so we could go through it (and I wouldn't miss 1 second of Rehab: Party at the Hard Rock - only my fav show ever of the moment). So I also had a big box out there. I told gav to take out each item in his toy box and he could keep it or donate it to babies who don't have toys. He did such an amazing job! I have way more emotional attachement to his toys than he does I've learned. He kept mostly stuffed animals and pretend-play kinds of things. He got rid of most of his cars (except a few), and everything a baby/toddler would want to play with. The box I had out overflowed, so I got a bag out and that overflowed too. He got rid of a good 3/4 his things (don't worry, I kept the really good stuff and things I think he may miss ). Right then we left to go to the good-will truck that is at the end of the street on the weekends. As the guys were getting the massive box and bag out of my front seat, Gav said to one of them "these toys are so babies who don't have toys will learn how to play." I mean how sweet is that? And this is why gav's the best. Plus he isn't a hoarder. lolol!

Day 08 → Someone who made your life hell, or treated you like sh*t.
Go back to my day 4 (something you have to forgive someone for). I don't really need to go into any more detail than that. And I'm sure other people have been mean to me in my life, but she stands out as the worst.

Day 09 → Someone you didn’t want to let go, but just drifted.
Well... here's the thing. I am the worst at keeping in touch with people. Plus I'm super lazy... And busy, and selfish with my own time. So thank goodness for facebook! That way if I reallly want to keep up with someone I can, otherwise I can see their updates, or pictures, etc and know what they are up to. Then if I want to comment or e-mail them or whatever I can. Is that mean? probably! Hahah but yeah for real you know you do this too! Plus I work with fun girls all day. I need some chill-out time and gav-time.

(ok these 3 days were kinda dull, hopefully the next few will be way more exciting!)

Bad - Will Hunting (and Jeggings AND Boots)

Posted By: Leah
Sad news you guys, I took my first Good-Will trip without a purchase! Not that I really needed anything, but usually I can find *something* I need. I went on my lunch hour with Courtney (cubee/good-will pro) and it's a pretty good thing I tried on these 3 things before I made a purchase. In the back of my mind my goal was to find 'tops that would look good with jeggings'
Granted I was wearing some random black wide-leg pants for work... but whatever. So at first glance I'm sure you all think I was bypassing some cute looks. Well these three would be cute on someone... just not me. And by 'someone' I mean someone super skinny. Oh, and pretty much only the middle one would work with jeggings.

Details: Top 1 above... Ann Taylor (not even Loft!) super cute nautical look. It sorta fit... everywhere except my 'bust' area. Don't be looking too closely, but those stripes went from 1" wide to about 2" + and struggling to remain a straight line kind of wide. not attractive or comfortable.

Top 2 above... American Eagle plaid pull-over thing with buttons and a random belt string. Again, wayyy too tight (the buttons would not even button) in the bust. plus way too tight in the waist-area.

Top 3 above (forgot the brand) vintage-look retro thing. This (miracle) wasn't too tight... it was... too loose! and short! (can't really tell because of the black on black). You know how people say you should wear fitted clothes to avoid looking bigger? Well this finally proved true. This top was a hot mess. It would be cute for oh... anybody not me.

Yeah, so that's the Bad Will Hunting. And I'm sure if I had been in there for hours I could have found things that actually worked... but it was a lunch hour and I was kinda bummed that nothing fit.

Anyway, moving on to Jeggings. I gotta be honest. I was a jeggings hater. It's just that 1/2 the people I saw in them made jeggings look like leggings from the 90's (t-shirt, athletic shoes) and that is a bad thing. The other 1/2 the people I saw in jeggings... I thought they were just wearing skinny jeans. I seriously didn't 'get 'what jeggings even were. Well jeggings (if you are in the .001% who doesn't know/own them yet) are like skinny jeans, in that they are form fitting (see above comment on how clothes that fit make you look smaller). However, instead of the whole zippers, buttons deal, they are super extra soft/stretchy. Basically they put skinny jeans to shame in the comfort category. And skinny jeans are like 95% stretch

Here is an example of good skinny jeans, bad jeggings:
(Um-hum, that's right... oh no! fix yourself girl, you've got a camel toe!)

So long story short, I got some Jeggings and was pretty excited. Except it's not cold enough yet to wear boots (and all of my boots are from 5 yrs ago w/ super pointy toes, extra high stiletto heels... not exactly the look i rock anymore). So I knew I had to go on the hunt for some boots, yay! It's important to wear your jeggings when you go find boots for them. And sadly, this is what I quickly discovered... my thoughts of looking all awesome in knee and over-the knee boots... I look like Kate Moss, right?
So here's the thing 1- I think even to attempt to look this tiny you need to not eat for at least months if not years, and 2- the boot needs a heel. I'm kinda anti-heels at the moment (too many cute flats out there). So I had to find something to make me not look super gross (and to me this is not a good look even though lots of people rock it).

Sorry Hayden, I look even worse than you (these boots even have heels!) and you probably only weigh like 100 lbs. I don't like that scruntchy knee thing happening. It is yuck. So anyway... I found something I *think* is cute. You all can tell me I'm totally wrong... but I think it kinda works. Instead of a tall boot in your jeggings/skinny jeans... how about a low boot? A What?? I know, it's a real thing... how about:

Ankle Boots!!!

So I can't find very many amazing photos of people wearing them w/ skinny jeans/jeggings... but trust me, this look works for everyone no matter if you have stick legs or the more curvacious variety!
I know, I know    ........you're welcome!

Days 4-5-6

Posted By: Leah
Next 3 on my 30 Day Challenge:

Day 04 → Something you have to forgive someone for.
Ugh. I always talk about the 1 person I hate. I know hate's a strong word and I need to let go. And this person didn't really do anything THAT bad, like physically abuse me. However there is someone I 'used' to know, 'used to work with' who just put me down left and right. In front of not only colligues, but off-site in front of clients, etc. Really made me feel like I was unworthy of being or doing anything because I was at such a 'low level' (when really, I wasn't. she just made it her mission to step on others to make herself look good). I now except that. Also I have to say karma's a b*tch!  (bahahaha. smack my hand. good things happen to good people and... no more comment on this one!).

Day 05 → Something you hope to do in your life.
I hope to travel more. I love to travel, that was actually my major in college and I've been so many places. I would like to go to even more. Specifically - Japan, Austrailia, India, Tahiti... to name a few :) Cross out hope, I know I'll go to these places. And so many more!

Day 06 → Something you hope you never have to do.
Be miserable. No matter what happens, I always try to keep a positive outlook. I throw myself pitty parties, then come up with a plan and feel better. I'm super logical like that :) But I hope nothing ever gets so bad, like things out of my control where I lose all hope.

30 Day Challenge

Posted By: Leah
So I'm already behind, but I think this is worth doing. I mentioned yesterday to Vanessa that some of my favorite blogs are the good/bad/ugly/real life drama-filled ones. I have chosen to make mine pretty much good/positive only because I am a 'glass is 1/2 full' type of gal and I truly think negativity is toxic and breeds more negativity. With that said, I know you all enjoy a little bit of juicy gossip and drama! ... if I can muster it! *it may not be today

Today's already the 3rd of September, so here are the 1st 3 questions (out of 30):

Day 01 → Something you hate about yourself.
Right now I am working on a lot of things. I don't think I truly hate anything about myself. That's too harsh.  Example of things I'm working on- the FlyLady getting my life organized, cleaned up, on track thing. Also I would like to lose about 10 more lbs (I've been about the same since April which is good, but after 23 lbs down, I need to kick this last 10 out of here). So I think everything I 'dislike' (here I go again w/ my sunshine and roses) about myself I know I can change. Very very little is out of my control. And that which is out of my control, time will change (getting out of debt, etc. I just pay my credit card bill every month and in 3 yrs it'll be down to 0.)

Day 02 → Something you love about yourself.
I'm warming up to he fact that I am starting to think of myself as a leader. My whole life I have always been a follower, just going along with what everyone else seems to be doing. Never initiating anything on my own big or small. (Example- in high school, never coming up with which movie for our group to see, where to go eat, who's house to hang out, even what birthday cake to have at my party. I did what everyone else wanted me to do). This year I have been taking more of a lead and guess what? People are listening. I think it's cool. With each thing I do or lead, I help others. I know you are looking for examples here... ok how about... the weight loss group at my work? A friend of mine here is now almost 40 lbs. She is absolutely the one responsible for that, but I am the one leading and directing the group, keeping it going. Or the craft fair, I wanted to go w/ my ShopLeah, invited others and they all set up. Pretty cool!

Day 03 → Something you have to forgive yourself for.
This is back to the 'something I hate about myself' thing. I know everything happens for a reason. I don't wish one thing happened has ever happened differently because I believe it's all part of this life I'm destined to live. Looking back (hindsight is always 20-20) I always say I wished I had chosen a different college to go to. I know w/ out that experience at the one I did go to, the people I met there, etc. I wouldn't be where I am today. However there are a lot of college things I feel like I missed out on such as: football games (my school didn't have a foodball team), I've never been tailgaiting (same thing), being in a sorority (there were sororities, but they forced you to live in one dorm and it wasn't what I envisioned), all of that. I need to let that go and forgive myself that there are things I like to think I've been left out of.

Ok that's the 1st 3. I may tackle these 3 at a time so you all don't get too super bored haha and I promise, the questions get better!

PS - not sure who to credit the 30 day challenge to... I'll find out who Vanissa got it from and link up sometime soon

Margarita Pesto Pizza Recipe!

Posted By: Leah
So I am slightly obsessed with Trader Joe's pesto. It is absolutely amazing. I don't even like pesto.. but this is different. It has pretty much only oil, cheese, and basil. I would slather it on everything... and I was earlier this week. But then i thought ok let me make a big pizza and be done with it.
This is my kitty Fro (aka Brodie) who was totally caught in the act. He's a 'junkyard kitty' and will eat freakin anything... even flour in a pizza crust mix.  (His tongue is not out all the time in real life, apparently only when I catch him eating stuff).

So anyway, I had a random diy pizza crust mix and topped it with the only ingredients I had in the house... a can of wal-mart salt-free tomatoes, a tiny bit of cheese, an onion. And the pesto. Then I baked it and realized I didn't follow half of the 5 simple directions on the crust package. (I added a friendly unicorn over the 3 major steps I totally forgot). I was too excited about getting pesto in my belly asap!
meanwhile, i've been good at being fly (check out my other post, more coming soon). So this was my sink's 'before' photo (I have to be real about this stuff).
But rule #1 is shine your sink. So since I had it pretty uber clean before... it took all of 30 seconds to re-clean. This stuff is easy... if you keep up with it.
Super easy and super clean. I even see my own reflection! It is soo amazing to wake up every morning to clean sinks, and a clean place.
Pizza came out looking really good. I like how the pesto 'melted' into the crust part. Also I probably should have cooked up my onion before adding it, oh well!
Anyway, here's the finished pizza. So super delicious, omg!

This is the view I had of the pizza:
...and this is the pizza's view of me! hahahah! Have a great Labor Day weekend everybody!
