12 Week Shape Up - Week 6 Clean Eating

Welcome to my 12 week shape up for Cali! What are you getting in shape for?





This week my weight loss was 3.2 Yup, somehow lost weight.
Honestly, I had all these clean eating plans and I did semi-decent with them. But what actually made the difference was EATING LESS. At the end of the day, no matter if you're on Weight Watchers, My Fitness Pal, Daily Plate, whatever... the number of calories you consume per day directly effects your weight. Your body needs a certain amount not to go into starvation mode and retain weight (so nobody go anorexic on me, that's not what I'm advising. I'm saying don't over eat crap every day). 

Mission 5 - Clean Eating!
We skipped last week's mission because I was too busy shoving McDonalds chocolate dipped soft-serves in my face. But... if that's all you eat for dinner..... somehow you lose weight...
OK NO! Bad. Bad bad.

A couple weeks back I talked a little about Gav having mysterious stomach issues. While his doctor was not able to pin it to a certain allergy or major thing wrong with him (thank goodness!) she did suggest that I feed him as many whole, natural, un-processed foods as possible. I think this summer with me packing his lunches for his daycamp I had fallen a little victim to me worried about him eating enough and thinking, 'well I KNOW he will eat a lunchable...' or a pack of crackers, or whatever. So I do feel responsible for his non-clean eating habits the past few weeks. We usually have a healthy dinner of fresh, unprocessed foods. But lunches really are not fun for me to pack, resulting in him not eating as healthy as she should. Mom Fail.

I took an entire day off work when I took him to the doctor and after his appointment we made a stop at Whole Foods. Even their pre-packaged stuff is semi-okay in my mind because they don't use corn syrup and I don't know... it just seems healthy-ish (yes I'm literally buying into the hype. but it's for the health of my child. Ok they have me tricked. All I know is no stomach aches since that day. Coincidence or not).


How are you doing with your weight-loss/summer fitness plan? I really wish I could do better (and get this post together by Tuesday, the day I normally had been doing it. Sorry about that!)
