Happy Birthday Gavin!
I have been blessed with the sweetest, kindest, most loving son a mom could ever wish for. I truly believe babies pick their parents, and the child you have (out of your heart or your belly) is exactly who you need in your life. I absolutely know Gav picked me for these reasons. He has helped me so much in so many ways. It's not always easy being a single mom. Ok, it's never easy being a mom at all. But being tasked to do it all on my own 95% of the time while working 45 hrs a week with my closest family members over an hour and a half away isn't easy either.
Gav, you are truly the best thing that's ever happened to me. You have taught me how to experience unconditional love, selflessness and you make my heart is so proud, thinking about what a wonderful boy you are.
You are so thoughtful. You tell me to close my eyes and when I open them, you bring me my favorite things, like Hello Kitty, jewelry, and whatever else you think will make me happy. One day you were being especially sweet, helping me clean when I wasn't too excited about it. you said said "Mom, I'm helping you get your smile back." How cute is that!? Seriously. He is the best.
The best feeling is when Gav does something extra kind. Like when he told me not to look, and he packed some extra tootsie roll pops we had left over from making his goody bags from his party into my purse. He said he knew I'd see them and it would make me happy. He is thoughtful and is always planning sweet surprises. He's just the best.
And you know what? I've done this. I've created him. I've raised a son who is sweet, kind, caring, thoughtful, and has taught me what unconditional love is all about. And I couldn't be prouder. I cannot wait to see who he becomes.
I get sooo many more page views and comments when I discuss Gav on my blog. I think even though the majority of you don't know him, you can sense how special he truly is. He isn't rambunctious or wild. He is truly the sweetest little boy you could ever imagine.
And he loves his mama. Big time. We are so close and I hope that never changes.
Happy Birthday Gav! We have a HUGE party planned this afternoon for all your friends. I hope it's not too hot, and it doesn't rain (ok more like it stops raining), and everything goes smoothly.
