The Aquarium. Super fun... or scary!?

Posted By: Leah
Get ready to read about my friend Brandy's most embarassing moment. Is it wrong that this post totally made me crack up laughing? Brandy is a riot.

Hi Loveys! I am super excited to be doing a guest post today! Thanks so, so much to Leah for letting me visit!

OK, here’s what I’m wondering: Have you had many cringe-worthy moments in your life? The horrible kind where you say something you wish you could suck back in the moment it leaves your mouth? Or the mortifying kind that makes you immediately consider moving to another state?

I feel like it’s a little unfair how many of those moments I’ve had. Jeff and I were thinking of taking our kiddos to the Aquarium this summer and that brought on a kill-me-now-I’m-humiliated um, well, an embarrassing memory for me from a few years back. Have you been to an Aquarium in your city? Let me explain something about my first Aquarium experience. First of all, this was pre-kids and Jeff and I were going with another married couple that we were great friends with at the time. We walk in and we just sort of slowly meander and look at the tanks (that already make me feel a little on the iffy side). It sort of felt like we were in a cave actually. We were not far from the entrance when there was this crashing sound . . . like the biggest waterfall you can imagine. I mean, it sounded like one of the tanks had burst and a tsunami was coming our way. All I could think of were those sharks in the tank coming straight at me. I screamed at the top of my lungs and started running hysterically for the entrance. I get almost to the door when my girlfriend comes running after me. She stops me and pulls me into a hug and says, “I should have warned you about that! Everything’s OK. It’s just part of the effects or something. You’re fine.”

Ah. The reality of what just happened sets in and the embarrassment is pretty significant.

My loving husband is bent over laughing.

Can I just tell you that there were families and small children everywhere and I am the only one crying and screaming and running for her life? Now they are all watching me walk back in humiliation to join Jeff and the other husband while my sweet friend comforts me like I’m five years old.

I’m cringing (and giggling) at the memory. Seriously one of my most embarrassing moments. One of many, I’m afraid. You kind of expect to have embarrassing moments during those torturous years of high school. And even during college since those years are a little crazy anyway. But as a grown woman, you really hope those cringe-worthy moments vanish. Sadly, for me, they haven’t vanished yet. Don’t even get me started on the embarrassment our children can heap on us! It’s like they have no filter when they talk. They say whatever they are thinking no matter who can hear!

So, what about you? When was the last time you turned tomato-red and wanted to sink into the floor?

A Note from Leah: HAHAHA omg this post totally cracked me up! Poor Brandy :( You are so cute, I can just see you looking super sad but also adorable all crying in the corner. I met Brandy a while back, she bloggs over on A Little Bit of Brandy .Brandy loves desserts and christmas music year round. How great is that?! She's such a doll! I'm so honored she shared her most embarassing moment here with all of us!

My most embarrassing moment? I have shared this story on the blog a while back. But it was when BF and I first started hanging out. We went to Amelie's a really nice french bakery in Charlotte. I didn't feel well at all, but was trying to play it cool for bf. My stomach turned when I smelled the chocolate. I thought I was going to throw up, but I ended up passing out. In the middle of a bakery full of probably 75 people. When BF got me awake the sickness came back and I started throwing up non-stop. It was awful. Even more awful was I made BF take me back a few hours later. I REALLY wanted an eclair (and had thrown up the past week's food). And the same people were there working. #fatkid.
